Winter Gingham

January 19, 2017

“Winter” in California is a pretty funny thing. Although we don’t get a real winter here, it still cools down quite a bit (into you know, the low 60s). While we get a few chilly days now and then, most of the time it’s still dress appropriate weather. Even though I always wish we had real winter weather to get bundled up in,  I kind of love the fact that I can wear a dress (sans jacket) pretty much any day of the year. I’m definitely not complaining! The extra warm weather last weekend was the perfect time for me to break out this new gingham dress I had been dying to wear.

This is one of my favorite kinds of dresses to wear on casual days. I love it that it has a slightly polished feel with the collar and classic print, but the super flowy fit makes it really easy to wear (and of course insanely comfortable). Also, you really can’t go wrong with gingham in my book, as seen here and here. As my style has evolved since college, I find myself gravitating towards classic prints such as gingham and stripes. In my mind, you can’t have too many classic prints in your wardrobe since they’ll never go out of style! I know this dress will be something I reach for constantly for years to come.

Also, although I’m usually more for simple jewelry (especially with earrings!), these Kendra Scott blush earrings stole my heart! I got them from Rocksbox, which is a super fun subscription service where you get to rent (or purchase if you want) designer jewelry each month. You can get your first month free by using the code devonhemburyxoxo at checkout!
