Where to Buy Affordable Art

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from decorating my apartment, it’s that decorating is expensive. I mean, I know furniture and decor is expensive, but man. Things really start to add up quickly when you’re decorating a new place basically from scratch! It’s hard because you want to furnish your place and get everything done quickly, but A) you don’t want to rush into buying things you might not necessarily love and B) it’s very easy to go broke in the process.

One thing I didn’t realize would be so expensive is art.

Of course I know that fine art is expensive, but my naive little self didn’t really realize just how much any art can cost. I definitely had a hard time finding cool pieces on the cheap, even though there are quite a few places out there! As I tried to figure out what art I wanted, I just kept finding things I loved but were way out of my price range. Now that my roomie and I are almost done decorating (YAY), I thought I would share a few places I love for buying affordable art!

Ones that I particularly love are Etsy. On Etsy, you can purchase digital downloads for SUPER cheap, and print and frame them (cheaply) on your own. It was definitely the most cost effective out of all of the options. The whole process takes a little longer, but it’s so worth it, especially if you’re trying to save money!

My other favorites for finding unique pieces are Society6 and Minted. You can get amazing prints that are from awesome artists around the world, and they are super unique! Although I love Target and definitely recommend it (some of their pieces are adorable), you definitely want to mix in unique pieces that not everyone is going to have.

Where are your favorite places to buy art? I’d love to know!
