Well, Friday is heeeeere– we made it! I was so tempted by these tulips this week at TJ’s. Aren’t they gorgeous?! I’ve been trying to save a few bucks and not buy flowers all the time, but it’s so hard when they are just so darn pretty. I’m working from home today and it’s been SO nice. I didn’t get out of my pajamas until noon, I’ve had countless cups of coffee, and I finally just migrated from my bed to my desk. Not bad for a Friday! This weekend is going to be another pretty busy one– a couple friends are in town, I’m having my parents for dinner at my apartment tonight, and we’re going to start moving Dave into his new place (which, I’m not going to lie, I’m totally dreading haha). I hope you guys all have a good one!!
So…..I’m thinking it’s a safe bet you’ve heard the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened to the public today. I haven’t really posted all that much about it because, well….I don’t really know! I’ve been so bombarded with posts that I just kind of wanted to sit it out. However, there were a couple of things that caught my eye: this $31 navy bell sleeved sweater, this darling scalloped sweater (love the blush), this little Kate Spade crossbody, and this super cute coat. Good luck shopping for those of you who are braving the stores!
I’m a little bit obsessed with the royal family, especially with Prince George. He’s seriously the cutest little thing!! William, Kate, and the kids are currently on a trip and there have been some adorable photos of George and Charlotte. If you’re a fellow royal nerd, you’ll love these photos! You’re welcome for making your day. 😉
Hydrangeas are one of my favorite types of flowers, but I hardly buy them because whenever I do, they wilt within about a day and half. Dave’s mom is a florist and she told me to put alum (it’s a spice) in them and that it’s supposed to work like a charm. Well I bought hydrangeas (I know I just said I need to stop buying fresh flowers…but I was having a treat yourself day), forgot the alum, and had a brief moment of panic. I started searching for any other tips and found this article that said that hydrangeas can actually absorb water through their petals. Who knew?! I instantly started spritzing them with water, and I’ve sprayed them every day since. They’ve lasted over a week. Had to share with you guys!
Every time summer rolls around, I pretty much can’t stop eating peaches. They are the perfect afternoon snack, delish in my morning yogurt, and soo yummy with a little powdered sugar for a relatively healthy dessert. But to mix things up, I want to try some of these ways to use peaches! How good does a peach ricotta tart sound?!
I don’t know why it’s so darn hard to find striped shirts! My current favorite is from J.Crew Factory, and I wanted to get one in another color but they sold out of them long ago. So sad! Even J.Crew was pretty much sold out of the ones I wanted. Then I stumbled upon these shirts from L.L. Bean and they are everything! They come in a bunch of colors and are only $30. I just can’t decide which one!
