This and That No. 23

May 12, 2017

TGIF, ya’ll! Really wishing I was right there ^^ right now, but I guess I’ll just have another cup of coffee instead.

I have to say, this week flew by again. I feel like the days went by slowly but then I blinked and it was Friday. Don’t know what happened but it’s totally okay with me! This weekend is a busy one– my bestie’s bridal shower is on Saturday, so we’re going to be cooking and helping set up most of the day. I get to make a cheese board…mmm. 🙂 Can’t wait to see how it turns out, I know it’s going to be SO gorgeous! Sunday is Mother’s Day, which we’re keeping very low key because we already celebrated last weekend. I think I’m going to cook dinner for my mom, though! I do wish I had more time at my apartment this weekend– I feel like the past few weekends I’ve barely spent any time there. The place is almost finished but I still have a few more projects to do! My room is basically done aside from some finishing touches. I’m on the hunt for some more accent pillows for my bed! Any suggestions?!

I hope you guys have a great weekend!

1 // Pineapple pool float

I have a full blown obsession with all things pineapple at the moment, so it’s no surprise that I had to snag this pineapple pool float from Target. I got it to use at my friend’s upcoming bachelorette party, but I kind of forgot I have a pool at my apartment complex I can also use it at! It’s going to be so fun to have around for summer. Plus, it’s only $20! I feel like most fun pool floats I’ve seen are like $60 plus. I mean, for a pool float?! Target has SO many cute ones right now, like a flamingo and a donut!

2 // HGTV & Food Network apps

If you’re as obsessed with HGTV and Food Network as I am– get excited. Not having cable definitely isn’t the end of the world, but I miss being able to just flip on House Hunters or catch up on Barefoot Contessa. Well, my roommate introduced me to the HGTV and Food Network apps, where you can stream shows right on your TV! It’s SO convenient and it’s so nice being able to watch my favorite shows again!

3 // Best top coat ever

Painting my nails is one of my favorite things to do. I feel naked if I’m not wearing nail polish (although I recently let my nails have a couple week break to let them breathe and they feel so much stronger now). I received this Ciate Gelology Top Coat in my Birchbox a few months back and I’ve been OBSESSED with it. It seriously keeps my manicure going strong for at least a week, if not longer. My nails stay SUPER shiny and they look ahh-mazing. I basically don’t know how I ever lived without this stuff!

4 // Mid-century bench

In the apartment, we have a super awkward little space behind our sofa that we’re not totally sure what to do with. Right now it has my bar cart and a fiddle leaf fig but I’m thinking about putting a bench in there to make it more of a usable space. I’m really loving this mid century one. I feel like it’ll totally go with the vibe of the apartment! Just need to pull the trigger (maybe after payday…ha. I feel like all my $$ has been going to the apartment!!).

5 // Ina Garten’s grocery list

I know what you’re thinking…like, we get it. You love Ina Garten. WE KNOW. Well I just love her. What can I say?! She recently shared her grocery list on Bon Appetit and well, I want just about everything. Ugh. Skillet lemon chicken and vanilla rum panna cotta? YES PLEASE. Her list was surprisingly attainable, though– brb, running to the grocery store.
