Ruffled Off The Shoulder Dress

July 12, 2017

Happy Hump Day! It has been hot in San Diego this week…it finally feels like summer! I’m sweating and surrounded by fans in my non air-conditioned apartment as I type this, haha. The struggle is real. I hope you guys are making it through the week! Heat wave aside, I’ve just been happy to get back into my normal routine after a couple weeks of craziness (travel, friends in town, best friend’s wedding, 4th of July, and lots going on at work). I ended up only being in the office one day last week due to the short week, working from home, and taking the day off for the wedding. It feels so nice to be settling back into my routine– it even feels good getting back to the gym (never thought I would say that)!

When it’s crazy hot out, I always reach for dresses. The thought of putting jeans on is seriously cringeworthy! I mean tight, sticky jeans? No thanks!! Light, easy dresses are just the ticket for hot summer days. When I saw this dress at Miss Match, I knew I had to have it. It checked all the boxes: stripes, off the shoulder, ruffles, and SUPER light and comfy! I’ve been lusting after all the ruffled pieces popping up everywhere but hadn’t hopped on the bandwagon. I have to say, I’m obsessed! I love how the ruffles are so simple but really make the dress stand out. Plus, they make it so fun to twirl in!

I paired it here casually with my go-to slides and tote for a daytime look, but I think it would be darling with wedges and a fun clutch or crossbody for a summery date night ensemble! Maybe I’ll style it that way in a different post. 🙂

If you’re local and haven’t been to Miss Match, you really really need to! They have THE cutest stores (in OB and Coronado) and are both full of adorable pieces. If you aren’t local, you can find this dress here!

Dress: Miss Match (c/o) // Sandals: Melrose in the OC (similar here for $23)
