It was SO incredibly beautiful out last Sunday that we knew we had to spend some time in the sun! I know, I know, you’re probably thinking “What is this girl talking about, she lives in freaking San Diego?”, but all the rain we’ve been having lately (and more on the way this weekend!) has been making me appreciate and savor our sunny days that much more.
We drove out to one of my favorite spots in Point Loma to walk around the dock, soak up some sun, and of course eat some amazing seafood. If you’re local, you probably know Point Loma Seafoods (it’s pretty famous). What you might not know is that pretty much right next door is an equally amazing (I think it’s better, actually) seafood joint called Mitch’s. The line is never even close to what it is at Point Loma Seafood, and the food is SO GOOD! If you’ve never been, I totally recommend it. Be sure and get a cup of chowder and the fried calamari…you won’t regret it.
To go with the nautical vibe of the day, I of course had to throw on my new favorite striped top! Navy and white will always be one of my favorite combos. I mean, you really can’t have enough navy and white striped tops! I can always find an excuse to add a new one to my wardrobe. I love that this one is super flowy and more of a tunic (aka perfect for eating a huge platter of calamari). I paired it with my favorite jeans, flats, and woven straw clutch for a casual Sunday look. I wasn’t sure if it was too early in the year to break out my woven pieces, but since it was such a nice day, I thought why the heck not! I wore this clutch a ton last summer, and I just couldn’t wait one more day to break it back out. I linked a couple of adorable straw clutches for you to shop below– they are a total spring/summer staple!
