Classic Shirt Dress

August 29, 2017

Happy Tuesday! I feel like the past few days have been a whirlwind. I pulled off Dave’s birthday on Friday and totally surprised him with a quick staycation at the Cape Rey Carlsbad for the night. We had dinner at Le Papagayo in Leucadia and it was SO GOOD. Seriously, if you’re in the area you need to make a reservation for the patio! We had a nice brunch, took a walk on the beach, and overall had an amazing couple of days. This week is already flying by– I have a lot going on at work, plus it’s a short week for me since I’m heading to Lake Tahoe on Friday (I’ll share more on that this week)!

I got this dress from J.Crew factory a few weeks ago and I’ve pretty much been wearing it all the time (you might have seen it in this snap from LA on Insta). I had been looking for a classic white shirt dress all summer long and I finally found one for a reasonable price! I love the tie detail on this one and how flattering it is. You really can’t go wrong with a classic piece like this. I’ve worn it dressed up with wedges and fun earrings for dinner out, but mostly styled like this with simple sandals and a straw bag. It doesn’t get much more summery than that.

I know fall is right around the corner, but with San Diego’s notorious September/October heat waves, I’ll still be wearing this dress for at least another month (if not more). I think it will look cute with a jean jacket and lace up flats for a cute fall inspired oufit!
