Last weekend Dave and I headed up to the mountains to cross something off my fall bucket list: apple picking! Julian is a little mountain town about an hour and a half outside of San Diego that’s known for its apples (they have the best apple pie). My family had a cabin in Julian when I was growing up, so it has a special place in my heart and I always jump at the chance to make the drive out there (check out our weekend getaway from last fall here)!
We picked apples last year too, and I love that it’s becoming a little tradition of ours. We tried out a different place this year that was a little more off the beaten path, and we were not disappointed! We went to Sentenac Ranch, and were blown away by how beautiful the property was. Plus, all their apples are organic, which is great! We had the best time picking a whole bag full of apples and made an amazing apple pie immediately upon getting home. Last year our pie didn’t turn out so well (we didn’t peel the apples…woops!), so this year was definitely an improvement. Even though it was a bit warmer than I would have liked, it was the perfect fall day!
